Adam Shorter was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, where he was shaped in a multigenerational household alongside his great-grandmother, grandmother, sister, and mother, Victoria Wheatley-Stebbins. As the oldest child, Adam learned early the value of faith, responsibility, and caring for others - foundational lessons that continue to shape his heart for ministry.
Adam holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership, which he will receive in May 2026. He has spent 28 years in the information technology field and currently serves as a systems engineer at JCPenney. In 2008, Adam moved to Dallas, Texas, where he has lived and worked for nearly two decades.
Adam is married to his wife, Terri, and is a devoted father to his son, Myles. In 2025, he faithfully embraced the responsibility of caring for his extended family as his mother, stepfather, and mother-in-law all relocated to Texas. He enjoys cooking, reading, spending time with his family, and loving on the family dog, Dax. His favorite scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, reflects his confidence in God’s sovereign plan and his trust in the Lord’s leading as he answers the call to serve God’s people.
